WELCOME TO YORK U WINTER ORIENTATION 2015!
York University offers a variety of Winter Academic Orientation activities for new students and transfer students who are beginning classes in January 2015. This year’s Winter Academic Orientation takes place Friday, January 9, 2015.
What to expect at Academic Orientation
Colleges will be hosting their own orientation from 11am – 12:50pm, covering academic services, social activities, recreational activities, and facilities available to you. Please register and attend the orientation and lunch for the College affiliated with your academic program. Not sure what College you belong to? Find out here!
After lunch students will be escorted to the York-wide orientation session taking place from 1 – 2:30 pm in Founders College Assembly Hall (Room 152). This session will provide an overview of central services through our Orientation play, “Experience the Possible”, as well as include a student experience discussion panel. This is your chance to become acquainted with the services and support York can offer you during your academic journey. Afterwards, students can access our other optional sessions including a financial information session as well as a tour of the Keele campus where students can discover the major facilities and services York offers.
*Please note that start times for orientation may vary depending on your College. You will be emailed details regarding directions to your specific orientation prior to the date, upon registration. Please note that various start times have been set for each College.
International students are encouraged to attend International Student Orientation. Sessions will run January 5 – 9, but you only need to register for and attend one. This session will allow you to make new friends and learn all about your new home away from home. For complete details and registration please visit the York International site.
