Parents & Family Orientation
Want to learn about all the opportunities, services and resources that York University has to offer you and your student?
Please consider joining us for Parents & Family Orientation / Move-in Day on Saturday, September 1, 2018. Arrival check-in begins at 9:30am with the formal program commencing at 10am.
PLEASE NOTE: Parents & Family Orientation Day is made up of a morning and an afternoon component. For those parents and families who plan to or have already attended an on-campus York 101 session earlier in the summer, you will not need to attend the morning component as the same material will be covered. You will be able to check which components of the day that you would like to attend on the RSVP form.
- Welcoming remarks from senior administration
- An exploration of exciting and challenging student transitional topics
- Money Matters - an optional session presented by Student Financial Services
- A Campus Services Fair where you can get firsthand information about transportation, security and much more...
The afternoon gives parents and families the opportunity to meet and have lunch with their student's College Master. Here, they can learn about academic support services, social activities, recreational activities, and facilities related specifically to the College.
Complete details about location and parking will be sent to registered attendees a few days prior to the event.
Parent & Family Orientation at the Glendon Campus
*For parents and family members of student attending York University’s Glendon Campus*
Since parents, guardians, and family are an important support for students throughout their university careers, we offer this session to connect with them and answer their questions. Topics discussed include financial aid, campus security, orientation, food services, and student life. This session coincides with residence move-in day (September 2, 2017) to allow as many parents as possible to participate.
